About

The main purpose of our organization is to:

1. Provide a relief of hunger by delivering fresh vegetables and fresh fish to food pantries year-round. We will supply same day harvest, pesticide free, hyper-local vegetables and fish grown with aquaponics.

2. Advancement of Education: Gaia’s Way will invite local schools to come to the farm and learn about Aquaponics. To teach how this type of ecosystem can help communities sustain growing healthy year-round and cheaply. We will encourage the schools to invite us in the classroom to discuss aquaponics. We plan to allow student interns to utilize the farm for scientific discovery to prepare for college and careers in aquaponics.

3. Community Therapeutic Benefit: Gaia’s Way includes a trauma based equine stable. The animals are used as companions during sessions with trauma clients. We will invite foster children to come to the farm and interact with the animals. This interaction will be guided by master level clinicians and volunteers. The children in foster care will benefit from the nurturing of the animals and learning to nurture back. We will also allow children to ride the horses, as able.
