Equine-Assisted Trauma Programs

The Equine-Assisted Trauma work involves volunteer counselors, helpers, and horses. We work with veterans, and other folks suffering from trauma, by using horses. How you might ask…

  • Increased trust.
  • Reduced anxiety.
  • Less feeling of depression and isolation.
  • Increased self-esteem, self-acceptance, and social skills.
  • Better impulse control.
  • Increased problem-solving skills.
  • Improved communication skills, including non-verbal.
  • Helps increase muscle creation for folks suffering from MS or Cerebral Palsy

Groups & Retreats – We hold many trauma groups through the summer and fall. We also host 2 trauma retreats every year. Please see our Groups and Retreats information.

Building the Barn in 2022

We spent most of Spring to Autumn of 2022 building the barn and fencing in the fields where the alpaca and horses live. Over the winter, we brought water and electricity to those barns. The future plans include extending that existing structure with more horse stalls and a riding arena. Check out the photos below to watch the progress.
